This paper written by Dr. Andrés Suárez-Castro from the University of Queensland’s Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Science and co-authored by CRRI’s Dr. Caitie Kuempel and Prof. Ove Hoegh-Guldberg found that more than half of coral reefs globally are exposed to sediment run-off. The research also identified terrestrial areas where forest restoration could reduce sediment reaching coral reefs the most.

Let’s build a
climate-ready future!

To restore the world's coral reefs, we need support from all sectors. From individuals and communities to governments and industries, collaboration is the key.
