Marine Heatwaves and Coral Reefs - Video

Where We Work

The Coral Reef Rescue Initiative (CRRI) is initially operating in seven countries around the world.

Working with a team of leading scientists, CRRI assessed 194 variables to identify regeneration reefs - those that are less vulnerable to climate change.

These sites were also chosen based on their exposure to climate change, their importance to local people and their potential to regenerate neighbouring reefs; connected by ocean currents that transport coral larvae and fish, they have the potential - with proper management and support - to be a seedbank for corals worldwide.

Let’s build a
climate-ready future!

To restore the world's coral reefs, we need support from all sectors. From individuals and communities to governments and industries, collaboration is the key.
